Born and raised in Lima, Peru. Antoinette went to a Sacred Heart Girls School for 11 years, she acquired strong values and principles, but also learned to always come up with a creative way to have a good time in such a strict environment. Graduated 1st of her class and moved to Canada take one extra year of High School, 12th grade, and to experience education in a different environment at a Public COED School. This experience marked her life in many ways, as a new world open right in front of her eyes; plus, this is where she got Toni as a nickname to Antoinette.
Back to Peru she attended Business School – Universidad Del Pacifico – to pursue her degree Economics. At the age of 19, Toni was hired as an intern by Procter & Gamble to work in the Marketing Department. Two years later, as she graduated as an Economist, she was hired by Procter & Gamble to become the Marketing Expert for Low Income Consumers in Latin America. This was another milestone in Toni’s life experience, as she had the opportunity to understand, learn and care for a parallel world right next corner, families in deep poverty. Toni’s passion for branding and consumer understanding took her on an amazing journey, immerge in the reality of consumer at the Bottom of the Pyramid, live with them day and night for several weeks.
This expertise allowed Toni to become a key player for Procter & Gamble’s business in Latin America. By 2003, Toni was already in charge of P&G’s Beauty Care business. In this assignment, Toni led a design team that was able to translate consumer expertise into product innovation to improve consumers’ lives.
In Mar. 2009, Toni made a tough call, she decided to leave Procter & Gamble and seek new challenges.
Today, Toni lives in Seattle. She is a Graduate Student at the University of Washington. Her passion for developing countries and vulnerable populations added up to her fascination for new technological trends took her the MCDM, Master of Communications in Digital Media. She now researches on how developing countries can leverage digital media to drive progress.
